Sri Bhuvaraha Narasimha Temple, Halasi – A Historical Marvel
Historical Significance
Located in ancient Halasi (historically known as Palashi, Palasika, or Halasige), this temple complex dates back to the 4th-6th century when it served as the second capital of the Banavasi Kadambas. The site’s historical importance is validated by seven copper plates from the 4th century Kadamba dynasty, making it one of the region’s oldest settlements.
